The conservation team at the National Museum in Phnom Penh presented a three-pronged online look at the 12-13th century statue of Jayavarman VII yesterday, with Bertrand Porte investigating where and when the sculpture, the museum’s jewel in the crown, was found; Chea Socheat highlighted a series of similar statues that have been found around the Khmer Empire; and Sok Soda informed the audience of the difficult job it is to conserve and restore the statue.
